Thierry Davila presents an innovative study of Belgian artist David Claerbouts work, following the dark logic that structures many of his films with duration and slowness, as well as a number of invisible photographs. Claebouts works are marked by an interrogation of time as an artistic medium. Inspired by phenomenology and the writings of Gilles Deleuze on the image and cinema, he has developed a kind of photography in movement, into which he introduces narrative elements. Looking at his work means spending enough time waiting for things to happen, causing a reconsideration of what narration and storytelling can be when dealing with current technologies.
