Published in conjunction with his recent 2003 one-man Los Angeles gallery show, this artist’s book cum exhibition catalogue is in the format of a slender, oversized tabloid newspaper, and is another colorful, tour-de-force examination of skateboard culture, wayward youth, and teenage sexuality. “The Prevailing Nothing” interweaves Ed’s paintings and drawings with his photographs; all connected by his handwritten captions to form a seamless, collaged diary/narrative.
