These photographs, taken in 1959 and 1960, show Hong Kong as a city not yet overwhelmed by high-rise; a city that combines a sense of tradition with an energy in its streets. The pictures show the photographer’s warmth for Hong Kong, and they were finished just before the his death in 1990.
